The Problem
ECONOMY CLASS WASN'T BUILT FOR
YOUR BODY.
Seat pitch has shrunk 3 inches since the 90s. Cushioning is foam over hard plastic. On a 14 hour flight, that’s not just discomfort. That’s sustained pressure on your tailbone, sacrum and sit bones for the entire duration.

Packs easy
01
Packs down to about 12 × 14 inches and under 1 lb. Goes in your carry-on or under the seat in front.
Cap off, then inflate
02
Pull the inflate cap fully off first — this is the step people miss. Then squeeze the built-in pump about 30 to 40 times, which is where most people find it comfortable. Press the cap firmly back on to seal it. No separate pump, no mouth inflation.
Dial it in
03
Sit down, then adjust. Too firm? Press the red release button to let air out. Want more support? A few more pumps. Both without getting up. Most people settle around 60–80% full rather than fully inflated.

Finally, a flight that didn't wreck me
Zero padding on my backside means every flight is agony. Not anymore. San Jose to Hawaii used to ruin me. Now? Nothing. No pain, no numbness. Travlr is a lifesaver. I literally won't fly without it.

My tailbone finally stopped screaming
Long flights used to destroy me. Nine hours of grinding pain, arriving too sore to function. With Travlr, I landed feeling rested—no pain, no stiffness. First time in years I didn't need a recovery day after flying.

I won't board a plane without it
Economy seats feel like wooden benches now. Travlr folds small and still gives me the support I need for any flight. I've used it on 6-hour flights, 12-hour flights, even at my desk. Genuinely the best purchase I've made for travel.

Way easier than I expected
I almost didn't buy this because I hate dealing with pumps and blowing things up. But inflating Travlr takes maybe 60 seconds—just press the built-in button with your hand. No tubes, no huffing and puffing. Simple, quick, and hygienic.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
EVERYTHING YOU
WANT TO KNOW.
Nearly always because the inflate cap is still on, so the pump just recirculates air inside the cushion instead of drawing new air in. Pull the cap fully off, then pump. If it still won't inflate, email hello@shoptravlr.com and we'll make it right.
Yes — provided the inflate cap is pressed firmly back on after you inflate. Left open, air escapes each time you shift your weight, which is the usual reason a cushion goes soft mid-flight. Sealed, it holds pressure for the entire flight.
That's where a lot of people get the most use. Road trips, trains, bleachers at sports games, festival chairs, office chairs if you're stuck at a desk all day. Anywhere you'd otherwise be sitting on something hard for hours. Plenty of people break theirs in at home or in the car first — worth doing, so you have the valve sorted before you're working it out in a plane seat.
That's the whole point. Standard plane seats compress your sciatic nerve and cut off circulation after 2-3 hours, which is why you get the numbness, aches, and hot spots. Travlr's air cells redistribute your weight evenly so blood keeps flowing and pressure points never build up. Same principle as hospital-grade pressure relief cushions, just portable.
Under a minute. Pull it out of the pouch, take the inflate cap fully off, and press the built-in pump about 30 to 40 times. That is where most people find it comfortable — around 60 presses takes it to full, which is firmer than most people want. No blowing into it with your mouth, no separate pump to carry.
No. It's designed to sit low and spread pressure, not act as a booster. Most people inflate to around 2 inches at medium firmness. You can also run it softer if you're tall or want a lower profile.
Yes. Folded into its carry pouch it is about 11.8 by 13.8 inches and 130mm thick — roughly a folded sweater. It slides into any standard carry-on, overhead bin or under-seat bag, and weighs under 1 lb.
Yes. It's a personal comfort item, same category as a neck pillow, and welcome on every major carrier including Qantas, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, British Airways, United, Delta, and Air New Zealand.
You have 60 days. Take it on a real flight, and if it's not for you, start a return yourself at shoptravlr.com/apps/parcelpanel-returns — it goes to our US warehouse, not overseas, though return postage is yours. Separately, a 1-year warranty from your delivery date covers the valve, seams and air cells if anything fails.
Orders ship within 24-48 hours. Most orders arrive within 7-12 days, often sooner.
Pull it out of the pouch once you're seated, take the inflate cap off, pump it up, then press the cap back on to seal it. Place it on your seat and sit down. Deflate and pack it back down before you get off.
Customer Reviews
Overall rating: 4.0 / 5 from 1464 reviews.
My husband was skeptical when I ordered seat cushions for both of us. We tested them out on a 4 hour drive to visit relatives. For the first time in years, his tailbone and bottom didn’t hurt when we got there! We also took them to the movie theater, and fully enjoyed a 3 hour show instead of enduring it.
Now those cushions live in the car, and he had me order another pair for taking on flights. You’ve turned a skeptic into a pain free believer! Thanks!
Store owner replied:
Hi Mike,
Thank you for the brilliant review! "Like sitting on air" — we'll happily take that. Love that your wife is getting one too; sounds like comfy travels ahead for you both.
Safe travels!
Love the product- wish it had velcro ties to hold it in place, however. The construction of the product is superior and will last. Once again, love the feel of the cushion. It really works to combat ‘numb bum’.
I ordered this for a long plane flight, but I have really benefited from it as back support in my car. I had back surgery a year ago, and this has been a game-changer for long drives!
Store owner replied:
Hi Mary,
Thank you so much for sharing this! So glad to hear it's been a game-changer post-surgery — long drives can be brutal on the back, and finding something that genuinely helps makes all the difference.
Safe travels, on the road and in the air!
I ordered 2 for the trip we were taking , my husband didnt take his and half way through i let him use mine as his butt was sore. I found it also great as a back rest. A little bulky in my backpack but doable. We use them at home for extra cush as well in certain chairs. Inflating and deflating were easy as well. I questioned my order, but glad I purchased them. I can see taking these to events especially where bleachers will be used. Nice for those over 70.😀
Store owner replied:
Hi Pam,
Thank you for such a thorough review! Love that one cushion ended up doing double duty mid-trip — and great call using them at home and for events too. Bleachers are exactly the kind of place these really earn their keep.
Safe travels (and comfy sitting) ahead!
I have been using it in my home office and simply love it. It is very comfortable and I plan to use it on my future flights this summer.
Store owner replied:
Hi Carmen,
Love hearing this! So glad it's making your home office more comfortable, and it'll be perfect for those summer flights.
Safe travels ahead!
I plan to use this in the car as we travel across multiple states to visit our children and grandchildren this spring and summer. Currently using it under my legs to get more lift with comfort after I take my morning diuretics.
Store owner replied:
Hi Mary,
Thanks so much for sharing this — what a lovely use case! It's wonderful to hear the cushion is already giving you some extra comfort and lift in the mornings.
Wishing you safe and comfortable travels as you visit your children and grandchildren this spring and summer. Enjoy every moment!
It’s easy to put air once you board. It helped relieve back pain or pressure during long flight. Now I’m using it in my office chair as my cushion.
LOVE this cushion it honestly saved me while ai was travelling with my kids by myself. I’m 6’1” and my back is always killing me after flights but I was totally fine. Must have for travel!!
The air pockets adjust and the support is thereby very comfortable. The cushions will be very helpful on road trips as well as they are now in our home daily.
Store owner replied:
Hi Amy! We love hearing how our cushions find their way into everyday life, not just travel! So glad you're enjoying the comfort and flexibility they offer. Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback!
Bought for travel, but tested in my office chair for 2 weeks and already like it. Does not deflate with use.
Store owner replied:
Hi Eileen, we love hearing this! 😊 Thank you for the enthusiasm and for giving TRAVLR a spot on your travels. It means a lot to know you’re enjoying the cushion. Hope it keeps you comfortable on many more journeys!
It’s the perfect solution for the hard bleachers on college football Saturdays! It will be at every game!!
Store owner replied:
Now that’s a great use for the cushion! 😊 Hard bleachers can make game day a lot less comfortable, so we’re thrilled to hear your TRAVLR has earned a permanent spot at college football Saturdays. Here’s to enjoying every game in a little more comfort. Thanks for sharing, Debbie!
I spend a lot of time at my kitchen table and it is very comfortable sitting on it instead of the chair alone.
Store owner replied:
Hi Robert, It sounds like your TRAVLR has found a regular spot at your kitchen table. 😊 We’re glad it’s making those longer hours of sitting more comfortable. Thank you for sharing how you’re using it at home!
My husband used the Travlr first on a train trip from New York to St. Paul, Minnesota. First the dining car's seat was uncomfortable. Then the train compartment seat was more comfortable with the Travlr. At home, it magically appeared on "his" antique chair. I guess it won't be folded up and put away until our next trip.
Store owner replied:
Hi Catherine,
Thank you for sharing this wonderful story! We love hearing how your husband found comfort with his TRAVLR on the train from New York to St. Paul, and now it’s claimed a spot on his favorite antique chair at home! Sounds like it’s become a household favorite. 😊 We hope it makes your next trip just as comfortable!
Flew to Paris last week and loved my cushion. It helps that's for sure. Brought one for my sister too. We our on a 14 day bus tour now. Hopefully this helps her as well.
Store owner replied:
Thank you so much for sharing! We’re thrilled to hear your cushion helped on your flight to Paris, and how sweet that you brought one for your sister too! We hope it keeps you both comfortable throughout your 14-day bus tour. Enjoy your travels! ✈️
It losts the air even if i close the 2 . Very not worth themoney and too expemsive mail bos canada to isa to return it. I should never believe your pub
Store owner replied:
We’re sorry to hear your cushion is losing air and that you’ve had this experience. We understand how frustrating that can be.
We’d love the opportunity to look into this and help resolve the issue. Please reach out to our support team with your order number so we can assist you directly. Thank you for sharing your feedback.
I’ve been trying it out on my recliner and I didn’t realize that I had a problem tailbone issue with my recliner till I tried out this product on it. Makes a big difference.
I’ve been pumping with nozzle open for 20 minutes and nothing has happened. I’m at the airport about to board a 10 hour flight.
Now i
Have to lug this around until i can send it back to you in
Store owner replied:
Hi Emily,
I'm sorry the cushion let you down right before a 10-hour flight.
One thing that catches most people out: the pump won't work unless the inflate valve cap is pulled off — it's tucked under the air cell with the "inflate" label. If the cap is left on, the air just recirculates and nothing happens, no matter how long you pump. When the cap is fully off, you'll see a red button, and pressing down firmly on the cushion 30-40 times will fill it. Our video shows it in action: shoptravlr.com/pages/how-to-use
If it still won't inflate after that, please email us at hello@shoptravlr.com and we'll make it right for you.
Safe travels!
I can’t keep this thing inflated. I have tried all different ways, but after I sit on it for a short time, I notice my tailbone hurts as normal, then notice its deflated. I try repumping several times a day.
I do not want to give up on it, but thinking-its just a dud. Ive been testing it out in my home office the last few weeks before my international trip, and at this point, will likely just leave it behind.
Put one in my car & one on my dining chair. Really helps me with my hip to sit for longer periods of time. Can’t wait to test it on a longer trip or flight.
I ordered this for my next overseas vacation. I have tried it out in a chair in my home. It think it will solve all the problems. It is light enough to take in carry on.
I bought these cushions for my sister who has Als and is sitting in a wheelchair most of the day. She tried both cushions and unfortunately they didn’t take away the pain or the wounds on her butt.
I appreciate you letting me have the time for her to try them. Unfortunately, I would still like to return both cushions for a refund.
please let me know if that’s possible.
Really great. Easy to inflate. Doesn’t deflate when you sit on it. I take it everyone with me. Very easy stored. Bought a second one for a friend. Highly recommend for sciatica pain, hip pain or tendon issue in hips.
I have one cushion on my home office chair, one on the recliner, and one in the car. They have helped my hip and tail bones feel much better after long periods of time when I am seated.
While I haven't actually used the cushion on the plane yet, I have been using it on my couch. I have sciatica in both legs and it just kills me to sit for long so I inflated one cushion and it's made a world of difference! I would definitely recommend it and am anxious to use it on the plane next week!
My sister and I went on a recent trip to Arizona. And we used the traveler cushions on our flight there and back as well as in our car rental that we drove four hours one day and four hours back the following day let me just say they work great! This was only a test run. Because next March, I’ll be traveling to Israel. This item is going to be in my travel bag.
I have had hip issues for several months. I was concerned about a recent trip to Spain and the long flight. This cushion was so comfortable and customer service was great. Highly recommend.
Store owner replied:
Hi Rebecca,
So glad to hear it's great once it's set up! The trick is to press the inflate valve cap on firmly right after your final pump so it seals before the air can sneak back out. Our how-to video walks through it: https://shoptravlr.com/pages/how-to-use
Safe travels!
It really has made a difference in both my daily chairs and my travel, but it does not fold easily or small. It’s quite bulky.
Store owner replied:
Hi Bobbie,
Thank you for sharing this! Love that it's earning a spot in both your everyday chairs and your travels — that's the best kind of use.
On the bulk: if it's not packing down small, it's usually because the deflate valve's inner second layer hasn't been fully opened, so some air stays trapped. Pulling that second layer up firmly lets the rest of the air out, and it folds down a lot flatter from there. This short clip shows the technique: https://shoptravlr.com/pages/how-to-use
Safe travels!
EZ to pump before plane took off (1 minute, tops); EZ to deflate & rebag upon taxiing to the gate (1 minute or less)!
My seatmate commented, "that looks like a really good idea!" and at the end of our 6+ hour flight I told him that it was amazingly comfy!!
Also a visiting niece with a bruised tailbone injury found comfort sitting on my Travlr pillow over our entire visit.
Now the members of my weekly group all wanted the info on where to buy one after my story of how comfy my long plane ride was while sitting on this pillow! Great travel companion!!
Store owner replied:
Hi Marilynn,
What a story — a one-minute setup, a comfy 6+ hour flight, a converted seatmate, and relief for your niece's tailbone. That's the travlr. dream right there. We love that it's already making the rounds in your weekly group too. Thank you for sharing it so vividly!
Safe travels!
Very comfortable at the local baseball games… excited to try on the plane this fall
Store owner replied:
Hi Connie,
Love this! So glad the cushion is keeping you comfortable at the ballpark, and we hope it makes your flight this fall just as easy.
Safe travels!
The product worked great, but I was bumped into first class and didn't need it for my seat. I kept it rolled up and used it as a lumbar support pillow which I need on long flights. It will be included in my bag for sure even if it isn't used for the designed seat position. Amazingly several fellow passengers saw me do it and remarked that was a smart idea for our transcontinental flight.
Store owner replied:
Hi Margaret,
What a clever way to use it! We love hearing how travlr. finds its way into people's bags one way or another, and lumbar support on a long-haul is a great call. Sounds like you started a bit of a trend at 35,000 feet too.
Thanks so much for sharing this.
Safe travels!
